Invisible to screen-share · macOS overlay only

Your interviewer
cannot see this.

The macOS overlay lives on top of your screen — completely hidden from Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and OBS. Chrome extension works on all OS but is visible in recordings.

Takes about 2 minutes from start to first AI response.

1

Download & Move to Applications

Download the DMG file, open it, then drag CodeSage Pro into your Applications folder before doing anything else.

⚠️
You must drag it to Applications first — this step is required

macOS security rules only apply to apps in your Applications folder. If you run CodeSage Pro directly from the DMG (the disk image window), the security bypass commands below won't work and the app will fail to open.

  • 1Open the downloaded .dmg file — a window appears
  • 2Drag the CodeSage Pro icon into the Applications folder shown in the window
  • 3Wait for the copy to finish, then eject the disk image

2

Bypass macOS Security (One-Time)

Because CodeSage Pro is distributed outside the Mac App Store, macOS Gatekeeper shows a warning the first time you open it. The app is completely safe — pick the method that suits you:

⚡ Terminal — 1 command (recommended)
System Settings
Right-click trick

Make sure you've already dragged CodeSage Pro to your Applications folder (Step 1 above), then run this command:

xattr -cr /Applications/CodeSage\ Pro.app && open /Applications/CodeSage\ Pro.app

Open Terminal with ⌘ Space → type Terminal → Enter. Paste the command and press Enter. The app opens automatically — this is a one-time step.

✓ Most reliable — works 100% of the time regardless of macOS version
ℹ️ The "Open Anyway" button only appears after you've already tried to open the app and got the error. Follow all steps in order.
  1. Finder → Applications → double-click CodeSage Pro
You'll see the "damaged" error — expected. Click Cancel.
  2. Apple menu → System Settings → left sidebar: Privacy & Security
  3. Scroll all the way to the bottom to the Security section
  4. Find: "CodeSage Pro was blocked…" → click "Open Anyway"
  5. Enter your Mac password → click "Open" → app launches ✓

Where to find "Open Anyway" in System Settings:

Privacy & Security General Privacy & Security Notifications Focus Microphone Speech Recognition Input Monitoring scroll down SECURITY CodeSage Pro was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer. Open Anyway click here
⏱ The "Open Anyway" button disappears after ~1 hour. If it's gone, double-click the app again to re-trigger the error.
  1. Finder → Applications → find CodeSage Pro
  2. Right-click the app (or Ctrl+Click)
  3. Choose "Open" from the context menu
  4. In the dialog that appears, click "Open" again

If the error says "damaged" (not just "unverified developer"), use the Terminal method instead.

3

Grant Screen Recording Permission

CodeSage Pro needs Screen Recording to read your screen for AI analysis. This is a 3-part process — each part takes about 10 seconds.

Part A — Allow the dialog

The first time you press ⌘⇧S (Capture), macOS shows a permission dialog. Click "Open System Settings" to go directly to the right page.

Screen Recording 🔒 "CodeSage Pro" would like to record this computer's screen. Grant access in Privacy & Security settings. Deny Open System Settings click this
Part B — Toggle CodeSage Pro ON

Find CodeSage Pro in the Screen Recording list and toggle it ON.

System Settings — Screen & System Audio Recording ← Privacy & Security Screen & System Audio Recording Zoom Google Chrome CS CodeSage Pro Toggle ON ↗ Slack
Part C — Quit & relaunch (critical!)

macOS caches the old "denied" state until the app fully restarts. After toggling ON, you must quit and relaunch CodeSage Pro.

○ CodeSage running — overlay hidden Show overlay ⌘⇧Space Capture & analyze ⌘⇧S Open Screen Recording settings… Quit & relaunch CodeSage Pro Click this after toggling ON ✓ CS Click the CS icon in your menu bar

After relaunch, press ⌘⇧S — screen capture will work immediately.

Already toggled ON but capture still doesn't work? This means the toggle was on before CodeSage launched this session. Use menu bar → Quit & relaunch CodeSage Pro — that's always the fix.
4

Enable Voice Features (Optional)

Want to ask questions by voice during interviews? Enable two more permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security:

Privacy → Microphone CS CodeSage Pro Privacy → Speech Recognition CS CodeSage Pro
100% private: Speech recognition runs entirely on your Mac's Apple Silicon chip. Audio is processed in-memory — nothing is ever sent to the cloud or stored.
